The Committee of Oxford Climate Policy Forum today sent a signed letter to County Councillors Ian Hudspeth, Yvonne Constance and City Councillors Tom Hayes and Craig Simmons (currently Lord Mayor of Oxford).
The letter expresses OxCPF’s endorsement of two key proposals affecting regional transport emissions mitigation:
- Connecting Oxford – best known for restricting cars from passing through Oxford town centre
- Zero Emission Zone – which will progressively increase emissions requirements for cars entering Oxford.
We believe that, while not ambitious enough, both these proposals are essential building blocks for future action. Apart from reducing emissions of the regional transport sector, both proposals will also help to significantly improve air pollution issues.
